This week, Colleen challenges us with the words Origin and Write. Remember, synonyms only to write your poetry!!

Written as a Double Etheree, my synonyms are Connection and Record.

I
Record
My feelings
Until I sense
The true connection
To the words, now fated
On what was but a blank page
Of plain white emptiness; my soul
Once hidden behind the darkened ink
Escapes, to become this glorious light
A fire which I cannot extinguish
The one I wish never to be tamed
For my spirit breathes in the life
Born, to these withering hands
That still continue forth
Never backing down
Until at last
Depleted
I am
Spent

A light glows against the night

Outside, but it’s not the moon

A fairy’s wings, perhaps, I see

Tis a sign, all the world is attune

For as the sky falls into a misty pitch

She continues to illuminate, bright

This pixie graces my ink and quill

Always with me, whenever I write

My newest muse, she comforts me

When the thoughts escape my mind

She guides my hand across the page

And once again, the words, I find

Leathery Lies ~ #MayWriting #poetry

So many pages, so many lies

Leather bound and yellowed

After all the passing years

The stories haven’t mellowed

Dog eared corners, wilted

Covered over, dusty layers

Marked, the chapters, bitter

By all the supporting players

No truths were ever spoken

White lies, against black ink

Were written by the scribblers

Who never stopped to think

Famously Unknown

I write to spill my dreams
Upon the blank pages of life
I write to tell my stories
To release an inner strife
I write to open up my heart
And let the love shine through
I write with mixed emotions
When I don’t know what to do

I prefer to be in the quiet
Tranquility soothes my bones
I close off all the outside noise
I like to write alone
I pretend to be an actress
I play a part with words
Some can relate quite easily
While others find it absurd

Yet I am still a wordsmith
My thoughts I share aloud
Acting out a roll rehearsed
And playing to the crowd
To those who hear, I speak my mind
The words I recite, intone
In hopes one day you’ll remember me
When I’m famously unknown
