A voyeur watches

Unaware am I, naïve

For I am his art

Legend has it, he’s watching you

Hiding in the verdant hue

Of leaves and flora, a hanging limb

That gather round, disguising him

At first you think, it’s just a stone

That lines the path, up to your home

Until you take a closer view

There’s someone looking back at you

Stumbling backward, up the hill

You notice that he’s staring, still

You shake your head and blink your eyes

But this really comes as no surprise

To see a soul, though inanimate, it’s true

Rocks have feelings, they most certainly do

Author’s Note: Hubby spotted this rock looking back at us the other night.  It has been there for years, 26 to be exact, and we never noticed the face.  I wonder who it could be watching over us   ❤

Another rumble pierces the quiet

The start of another raucous riot

Thunderous sounds, lightning flashing

Clouds open up, rain falls, thrashing

Pummeling nature, impeding paradise

Flowers lay fallen, a cruel sacrifice

Through open curtains, I see it unfold

Watching as skies become uncontrolled

Then my eyes grow heavy, to stay awake I must fight

Til I fall asleep, to the sound of the rain, in the night

People Watching ~ #poetry of #life

I sit, watching, as they go about their day

Never looking up to see the world, nose glued

To whatever electronic device they happen to have

A woman trips, but picks up her pace,

Even more hurried, two others sit, chatting,

Seemingly unaware they are not alone

The din of an otherwise empty coffee shop

Is music to my thoughts, and as the hours pass,

I realize, I am just like them

She is

Blended with earth

The soil of the land

Betwixt the trees

And barren branches

Eyes of nature

Watching, adoring
