Hidden by emerald leaves
A wood creature stands
Guarding his territory

We begin from flesh
Return to the earth as bone
Awaiting entrance
Hoping, as we, mere mortals
End, with the sheer grace of God

Frightful October
Goblins and ghouls awaken

I watch the Earth weep
As rain falls from a dark sky
Releasing its pain
Til light of day emerges
With colors of a rainbow
