Those days, well spent, watching the moon

I longed to be up there, to listen, commune

Along with the stars, shining so sweetly

She’s captured my heart, ever so completely

A child of the moonlight, carefree, gliding

While I’m down on Earth, watching, hiding

I don’t want her know, how I envy her place

Happily swinging, oh, the joy on her face!

I’ll wait in the shadows, as she flies in the night

In my eyes, she is starlight, glistening bright

To get the right reaction from something

You must act, without needling the cause

Step back, but don’t reverse your swing

Then hit it out of the park, without pause

All the folks called him Alligator Alley

Never questioned just how he did tally

His score on the course, so uncanny

For a gator, whose grip was so clammy

Golfers stood around him, and stared

To question his form, no one dared

Still, his ball would set off any Geiger

But this reptile could never be Tiger

Every day, he would practice his swing

Until one day, he gave up on this thing

Claiming golf was meant only for man

But he’d always remain a true fan!
