Tie it tightly, so I shall not fall
Move my legs, back and forth
Gaining height, though I am small
Feel the winds across my face
As my body begins to swoon
The atmosphere captures me
I’m getting closer to the moon
Behind me hides the setting sun
Casting shadows across the Earth
As I look down upon my home
I wonder, “What’s it all worth?”
Maybe I’ll stay up here awhile
In the heavens, there’s nothing I lack
Perhaps one day, I will return to say
I’ve been to the moon and back

I wonder how many of us would love to join you right now, up there on your swing…

What a playful, charming poem. I’m all grownup, but I still enjoy swings.
