Legend has it, he’s watching you

Hiding in the verdant hue

Of leaves and flora, a hanging limb

That gather round, disguising him

At first you think, it’s just a stone

That lines the path, up to your home

Until you take a closer view

There’s someone looking back at you

Stumbling backward, up the hill

You notice that he’s staring, still

You shake your head and blink your eyes

But this really comes as no surprise

To see a soul, though inanimate, it’s true

Rocks have feelings, they most certainly do

Author’s Note: Hubby spotted this rock looking back at us the other night.  It has been there for years, 26 to be exact, and we never noticed the face.  I wonder who it could be watching over us   ❤

Overgrown flora adorns this place

Hiding what’s under the cement staircase

No one will journey beyond the gates

Lest they find out what certainly awaits

Dare not, to step on this place of death

Careful! This could mean your very last breath

So many souls are forgotten here

Left all alone, yet you’ll still feel them near

Though emptiness fills this hallowed ground

The spirits still linger, make nary a sound

No need for a raucous, this they well know

Just a harsh, subtle whisper, reveals them so

A Toast to Love ~ #RomanticTuesday #poetry of #love

We sailed, along with the quiet ripples

Drifted ever closer, under the bridge

Secluded in each other’s arms, we rocked

Gently to the rhythm of the boat, we touched

The light, reflected on the water, shimmered

Illuminated, the glow of our souls, enraptured

With one another, we drank a toast to love

Sunlight casts an ethereal glow

Among the shadows, as they grow

Underneath the hidden spaces

Where spirits hide angelic faces

In between the barren sprigs

Intertwining with the twigs

Watching, as you pass them by

Listen, you can hear them sigh

In daylight, even in the dark

These gentle souls of Sunnybank Park

Author’s Note:  Sunnybank Park is in Wayne, NJ and one of the places I love to go to.  There is a peacefulness to this place, and you can feel it all around you  ❤
