Ripples carry a shimmering light

Usher in the beauty of the night

As sun sets on the ocean, vast

The wind, blows softly, ever fast

And sparkles on the waters, sing

As silver lights, in silence, ring

His thoughts

Linger quietly

In the stillness of night

He can no longer feel her

She has left him, in spite

Of his pleads to her heart

Til the end of his days

Vowing always to love her

Then, the pain starts to weigh

Heavily, the aching, in his chest

This wasn’t what he had planned

Realizing now, the absence of her

Is really more than he can stand

Stop! Right there, it’s a big mistake!
We are definitely not dinner for you
Go find another to make you a steak
Better yet, go eat a vegetable, or two

We’re a happy couple, the bull and I
We like laying around in the grass
But humans, in the blink of an eye
Don’t care about being so crass

Seriously, folks, go try something new
Wake up your taste buds, delight them!
Perhaps some kale or broccoli will do
Go on, go ahead, and just bite them!

Forget about meat, no burgers, no veal
Peppered steak, is not on the menu
Veggies will do, for your very next meal
A baked potato, a salad, and tofu

C’mon, can’t you see how cute we are
Just laying here, together, we plead
We’re too young, to write our memoir
Leave us be, or we’ll surely stampede!

In the tall green grass of the meadow

In a dimension much like our own

Lives an elf with his misses and family

In a small, dotted mushroom home

Bright red roofs are clustered

A shelter for the little folk inside

Free to be what they want to be

No need to run away and hide

So if you’re walking about in the country

And you spot a mushroom or two

Remember to leave well enough alone

Or elfin magic will come after you!

All the folks called him Alligator Alley

Never questioned just how he did tally

His score on the course, so uncanny

For a gator, whose grip was so clammy

Golfers stood around him, and stared

To question his form, no one dared

Still, his ball would set off any Geiger

But this reptile could never be Tiger

Every day, he would practice his swing

Until one day, he gave up on this thing

Claiming golf was meant only for man

But he’d always remain a true fan!
