In the forest trees

The winds, whisper in silence

Their hidden secret

Each day, sounds of whispers
A rustle of leaves, but not quite
Near the bushes, they gather
To bid the day goodnight

Making a canopy, over the road
Each to the other, very quietly
No humans, can ever be around
This is the secret life of trees

Faces begin to appear on trunks
As the sun sets, with swiftness
Careful not to draw attention
They never want an eyewitness

For if the humans find them out
They will surely cut them down
And this is why you never hear
A tree, when it hits the ground

They’ll never make a noise, a thud
Or cry out loudly, in sudden pain
People would know their secret
And they’d never show faces, again

So, every time you pass by trees
Remember, they have feelings, too
Be kind, and let them live in peace
It’s the least we humans can do…

Rows of puffy clouds, floating by

What kind of secret is kept inside?

Pressed up against an azure sky

I can see them, but, what do they hide?

I heard someone say it is merely the rain

Though I am not sure they are right

I sense a calmness, across this plane

Closer together, they gather, aflight

Til the sky opens up, with a heavy sigh

And the sunlight bows down, to the mist

Their secrets, are no longer held, up high

Nourishing my soul, I am sweetly kissed

Many secrets were held
In the gems around her neck
Well hidden, years past and present

Though none ever knew
She wore it, quite overt
Always knowing, just what it meant

Smiling, each time
She’d touch the jewels
Remembering all, who came before

Counting the days
Until, it was time
She could, again, add one more

Poor fellow, he
Who courted and wooed
He didn’t stand a single chance

Rosa merely kept him
For her next kill
Twas her secret to true romance

Best to keep secrets, out of sight, under disguise

Sweep them far away from you, hide those nasty lies

In the belly of the broomstick, just let the dust collect

No one will find the answer, no one will ever suspect

Tidy up your space, so nobody dares to cause you grief

On to other chores, they’ve moved, what a sense of relief!

Until someone comes along, to sweep the dusty rug

And finds what’s hidden there, and all you do is shrug

Knowing that your precious secrets, were never truly kept

Underneath the carpet, where all your dirt was swept
