River ripples, oft plangent, I can hear her sigh

Why do I care to linger about anyway?

I bid her a gentle wave, a reluctant goodbye

Then wonder if she’ll take me, as a stowaway

I watch him row, against fiery light
Just a silhouette, of a man, in a boat
Moving his paddles, left and right
On the calm river waters, he floats

I wonder, has he a care in the world
Or is he trying to escape, from the past
The fronds about him blow, unfurled
Still, he remains this silent outcast

Each night, it’s the very same thing
He rows by, while the sun starts to set
Sometimes, I think I hear him sing
But most likely, it’s the wind’s quartet

Rustling through the broken air
Creating just enough sound to be heard
Unlike the man in the boat, unaware
My curiosity of him, he has stirred

One must always be instrumental in their own life

Let not the splinters of strife cause you to quiver

Find one who can lead you, through the dark times

Let Him guide you, like the currents guide the river

Azure skies reflect in crystal waters, flanked by green grasses, and what were once the vibrant colors of the leaves. They’re faded now, turned to brown, but the colors still remain vivid in my eyes. Here is where I find a sense of peacefulness, a calm like no other, reaching through to my soul, a serenity in nature, held captive on this Earth. I walk softly, for fear I’ll disturb the silence that breathes here.

Stopping, I find myself sitting down on the banks, under the trees, feeling the cool breezes of the near-ending season, and I take note that winter is fast approaching, pulling the collar of my sweater closer to my face. How I wish I could bottle this incredible feeling. But alas, I cannot, so I must make good with the time she remains with me, and patiently wait for her to return from her lengthy respite.

And I shall remain here, long into the day, soaking in her beauty, for I do not yet wish to bid autumn adieu…

I scull these endless miles, no sleep

To hide the pain that’s hidden deep

With every breath inhaled, I ache

And wonder how much more I’ll take

Before, at last, my final bow

Will release my soul, which cries, but now

I will forge my way, to alleviate this mood

Lest I spend my life, in a constant brood

For this pain doesn’t have control over me

I am the victor, I will set myself free

Row across the river, with courage and fortitude

Where adversity will never, again, intrude
