River ripples, oft plangent, I can hear her sigh
Why do I care to linger about anyway?
I bid her a gentle wave, a reluctant goodbye
Then wonder if she’ll take me, as a stowaway

Night Owl Poetry - Dorinda Duclos 
Plangent. A new one for me. I am surprised by its meaning. I can see no part of it that relates to sounds – well maybe “plaintive.” At least I can make that connection to help me remember. Continue to teach me. 😀
