Inside an artichoke, lies its heart,

Though not the kind we like to eat.

Instead, it’s a beautiful flower,

One that will never, skip a beat.

We pluck these spiny beauties,

From the soil, to feed a pang.

Perhaps, look for something else,

Which will satisfy, with a tang.

Just imagine, if we did allow,

This vegetable, to truly blossom;

Oh, how colorful the land would be,

On Earth, yes, simply awesome!

She sits and waits for your arrival

While contemplating her survival

A timepiece dangles from her hand

Another day, so carefully planned

Many before you, now mere ashes

Simply because she bats her lashes

And crosses a leg, shows some skin

Yes, this, is where her wiles begin

So easily fooled, you common man

Though try you must, you never can

Free yourself from her dangerous devices

At what cost, and will you pay such prices?

Think twice, before you dare respond

Else wind up like the others, far beyond

This is might be a good one after we all stuffed ourselves yesterday.  LOL

Don’t know what he expected

Digging in to all that junk food

His stomach raged a war with him

It was in an extremely bad mood

Burgers and dogs, fries, and corn

Into his mouth, he kept stuffing

Barely able to catch his breath

Found himself huffing, and puffing

Next came the soda, bubbles galore

Down the hatch, in one mighty swig

Not sure how much more could fit

His stomach was growing quite big

Then, there it was, a horrendous sound

Could’ve frightened the neighbors away

A gurgling, like no one has ever heard

Someone asked him if he was okay

But, it happened again, this time he blew

Such flatulence, would likely power a jet

We couldn’t help but laugh at the poor guy

But admit it, you would laugh, too, I bet

While walking through the forest
I came across this hairy cluster
I wanted to look to see what it was
It took all the strength I could muster

It seemed to grow, as I approached
My imagination was in overdrive
As I got a closer look, I was sure
It was something very much alive!

Hundreds of little tentacles
Were reaching, out of the ground
As if to say, please won’t you stay?
I found this quite profound!

I managed to take a photo or two
For no longer could I loom
Then read in the paper, the very next day
About an epidemic, called the “Shroom Boom”

I took myself to the hospital
Told the nurses about my discovery
Next thing I knew, though it was a blur
I woke up in a room called recovery

Not really knowing what happened
But it really must have been humongous
I asked the doctor what all the fuss was
He said “It seems you were a fungus among us!”
