Inside an artichoke, lies its heart,
Though not the kind we like to eat.
Instead, it’s a beautiful flower,
One that will never, skip a beat.
We pluck these spiny beauties,
From the soil, to feed a pang.
Perhaps, look for something else,
Which will satisfy, with a tang.
Just imagine, if we did allow,
This vegetable, to truly blossom;
Oh, how colorful the land would be,
On Earth, yes, simply awesome!

Nice piece and I love artichokes! And yes, you don’t want to eat the spiny part around the heart – yikes!

Can these be planted in the garden? I learned something new here.
If people look, they will see your words are quite meaningful. 💟
