Meet Dorinda Duclos

Dorinda is a poetess, one who thrives in the darkness, and seeks out the shadows in the light. She writes, because it is her escape from reality, a chance to release the passion she holds in her being.

Dorinda is a member of the Poetry Society of America and the Academy of American Poets. She was also involved in “Poets for Peace”, a collaboration of poems from poets around the world. This collaboration is now archived in the ‘Stanford University Archive’ of the ‘100,000 Poets for Change’ collection!

A wife and mother of two, Dorinda makes her home in northern New Jersey, surrounded by wildlife, and nature’s beauty, all inspiration for her poetry.

You can find some of Dorinda’s lovely poetry here: https://dorindaduclos.com/

What Amazon says

Imagine yourself being lost in a faraway land, or sailing on a pirate ship. Perhaps you’ll find yourself in a predicament…

Autumnal colors,
Russet and red,
Draped in a cape,
That covers her head.

She tucks inside,
The golden locks of hair,
Her mama told her,
To never bare.

A mist forms around her, ever so,
There, in the forest, unafraid, though.

They envelop her,
In a magical dance,
She smiles, happily,
This is not happenstance.

Knowing it is they,
Who come to call,
Every November,
Near the end of fall.

And this child awaits, ever patiently, their arrival,
For she counts on them, for her very survival…

Colleen’s poetry challenge for this week is synonyms only!  Her two words are Grace and Style.  Check out Colleen’s blog to find which forms of poetry are acceptable for this challenge.  Have fun!

Written as a Haiku, my synonyms are Exquisiteness and Formation.

Exquisiteness flies

Heading south, in formation

Wings spread, open, wide

Come Sit for a while- #poetry #whimsical

Oh Hi! Hello there, let me introduce myself!

Please, don’t confuse me with the one on a shelf

I’d much rather be, where lies the green grass

I fancy my time, sitting here, on my… butt

The light, it draws sweetness, closer to me

I’m so very happy, watching a lantern fairy

I love how she dances, around, in the night

Sparkling brightly, underneath the starlight

So if you have a moment, or two, to spare

Come sit for a while, I’m happy to share

This place I call home, though fancy, it’s not

But, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it, ’cause I sure do, a lot!

Oh dear, did I forget, to tell you my name?

Why it’s Jed, this is true, I must proclaim.
