They loved to call her Shadow
Blending in, with foreign sands
Dressed in black, she is darkness
Sharpened sword, held in her hand

She fights the voices, defiantly
They speak evil, to her mind
Wicked thoughts, aplenty
Still, she seeks, until she finds

Wisps of dust, twirling round her
In this place, behind the moon
She watches them create this world
Made up of endless dunes

Trapped inside the sands of time
Caught, in a lasting drought
Shadow returns to her darkness
In the valley of her doubt

We have but one

To call our own

No others allow

Our Earthly form

A heavenly body

Of living things

Floating

Around a brilliant star

We circle

As each days passes

For twenty four hours

We move

An endless orbit

Night into day

And day returns

Once again

Until our final hours

Our planet remains

A place we call home

Shining in the Western Sky
The Star of Beauty ever Bright
Illuminating Darkness
Venus, on this Cloudless Night

Sharing in her Splendor
Huddled high in Evening Pitch
Seven Sisters gather near
To Captivate, Bewitch

Celestial, Alluring
Beguiling is their Sight
High in the Heavens up Above
Divine in Everlasting Light

For all the stargazers:  Look in the Western sky and you’ll find Venus and to the right of her, the Pleiades cluster, also known as the Seven Sisters.  Enjoy the nights with these beautiful lights.

Big silver bird up in the sky
Fly me to the moon
We must hurry, no time to waste
I have to be there soon

I want to sit above the world
And watch its changing wonder
Before mankind destroys it all
And puts us all asunder

The life we lead will surely be
Our imminent demise
We cannot brush this all away
Our planet slowly dies

We need to stop the chemicals
We spread across the land
And go back to the simple ways
It all goes hand in hand

As I look down upon the blue
As beautiful as can be, please
Care for her as you would yourself
She belongs to you and me
