The melody kept playing with her mind

Bringing tears to her porcelain face

A memory, of a man, who once was so kind

Now he was, simply, her only disgrace

Warned by so many, to keep up her guard

She ignored them, said they were wrong

Soon to find out, life really was so hard

And he left her, with nothing but a song

Each night, she dressed, in the mirror, wept

Seems for her, it was the same, every day

Tis what happens, when you lack self-respect

And with time, the music faded away

The beautiful strings of a harp, sing softly upon her soul

A composition, from within, both hands begin to play

Her fingers, lost in the music, a face so angelic, whole

And I watch her eyes dance, as the melody steals her away

Oh goodness, what a terrible sight

When they finally turned on the light

There was dust everywhere

But they just did not care

Turned on music and danced with a mite

#writephoto – Circle – #shortstory

As I walked through the forest on this somewhat dreary, gray day, I stumbled upon six stones forming a circle. The largest stone looked more like an altar. I imagined many a chanted prayer was spoken here. You could feel the vibrations emanating from them. The surrounding area was very quiet. Not even the wind spoke in this sacred place. I walked around to each stone, hoping to find some clue as to who this circle belonged to. I touched the first stone, and every stone thereafter, until I got to the large one. I pondered, should I touch it? Would I be disturbing its spiritual meaning?

I stood, backing away, more toward the middle of the circle, and closed my eyes. Each stone sang to me, a lyric I had not heard before. Each song different from the other, I found myself lost in the bewitching melodies. Were the stones speaking to me, the ancient spirits who dwell here, letting me know I was welcome?

With an overwhelming joy, I held my hand to my heart, felt the wisdom of each stone, felt the peace of the altar, and the most powerful feeling of all, being accepted into a circle of love I had never known before.

A Lullaby of Strings ~ #poetry

She serenades the sun to sleep
With a lullaby, from her strings

Her music floats, into the air
Takes flight, on angel’s wings

It floats among the heavens
On the tails, of passing clouds

As sunlight fades into the night
She is blanketed, with a shroud

Of darkness, it settles over her
Yet, she continues to play her song

Knowing soon the moon will rise
Tis who she plays for, all along
