The quiet, shattered

Like a million pieces of glass

Scattered across the naked tile

And yet, we heard nothing;

Shards of noise created no sounds

Above the roar of beating hearts

Yours, mine, ours,

Together, against the sharp edges

We tore each other apart,

Sliced each other, to the very core,

Until only the sound

Of sated breath

Repaired the silence

Dazzling light, from up above

Scatter my thoughts, reminiscent of

Days when the world was airy and light

Setting the story, in the cool of the night

When stars gathered round

With a sight, so profound

When my heart would display

Every word, everyday

*

Dazzling light, from up above

Gather my thoughts, for the one I love

Make this energy glow in your sight

Scatter my heart in the warmth of your light

And the trail you follow turns astray

Remember what I promise, true

To always be here, just for you

To hold your hand when life gets tough

To comfort you, through days so rough

To make you know you matter so

To find your way, let love bestow

The dreams you thought you left behind

Our dreams together, now entwined
