I am no sleeping beauty

My finger I will not prick

I’m looking for the light of God

To forget this darkness, thick

But the thorns do not allow me

To find that peaceful place

So I wander through the night

To find His sacred grace

Where I can lay my head, to rest

No spindles, to make me bleed

Just close my eyes, in solemn hope

And let my dreams concede

Without ever really questioning why
Days where life, decides to play
And things, forever, go her way

She dreams of love, eternal, true
Hoping one day, he’ll be you
Her hand against the window shade
Thoughts and visions, heavily weighed

She dreams of all, such wondrous things
The kind to make her whole heart sing
My beautiful, daughter, so full of love
My beautiful blessing from Heaven above

Crescent moon, in the still of night

Quietly gazing, I sense your fright

You’re wondering, will I stop the storm

Or will clouds around you, start to swarm

And hide the light, that lets you shine

The light that comes from one, divine

And should I suddenly fade away

Can you go back to yesterday?

Or will you live in fear of dark?

When at last the Earth, is cold and stark

Crescent moon, my guiding star

I think I’ll keep you, as you are
