Human beings
are a jumbled mess of colors
In a world
photographed in black and white
We try to lend
our own unique palette
Always ending up
distorted, pixelated

Showing off,
for all the others, in contrast
To the normalcy
often contributed to empty
Spaces, where
we insert ourselves, uninvited

Places, we do not belong
often causing
The misconception
we do not care
If we do or don’t
Will it really matter?

We paint our souls
with no regard for lines
Often finding we
are so abstract, apart
Even the easiest assembly
cannot happen
Without it becoming
a splattered canvas

Where the artists compete
and no one wins

People, who find the need to manufacture lies

Will quite often implode, rather than construct

What they need is an epiphany, a revelation

Tis a much better way, than to self-destruct

Let’s, for a moment, immerse ourselves

In the beauty of life that surrounds us

Drink in the copious fruits, of the world

Instead of instigating hatred, around us

It is human intelligence, or perhaps, a lack of

Which creates a sea, of uncertainty around us

Perchance, we could try, to mitigate tempers

And make this world, a bit more magnanimous!

Author’s note:  If you are detecting a pattern to these posts, you would be correct.  The world needs more kindness….and it needs it now.

Would you have a moment
To help me with my wares
Won’t you stop, lend a hand
And show me that you care

I cannot seem to get a job
For my dress is frayed and worn
I think I understand just why
You look at me with scorn

You think that I am lazy
You couldn’t be more wrong
I may look like a ragged mess
But my will, is ever strong

It is not my choice to live here
Like this, each and every day
Do you really understand
Why I am this way

I have been forgotten
So I live here on the street
Please won’t you help me
Find some shoes, for my bare feet

Author’s Note: As the winter months approach, please, if you have an extra pair of gloves, or a scarf, and you see someone in need, consider an act of kindness, knowing it may never be repaid.
