The lovely Helene of Willow Poetry has challenged us with “What do you See?”.  You may write a poem, haiku, tanka or short story that represents what you see or feel within you.  More info can be found in the link below.

Old and frail she climbs

Each step harder than the next

She is determined

The top seems so far away

But, oh the reward that waits

                ~~~
Touching the heavens
The fruit of her labor shines
A glorious sight
She smiles when she reaches it
Content, she withers away
So many candles burning, no brighter than a single flame
Dimly lit distractions, another one, they’ve come to claim
Keep your eyes on the colors, red and yellow float away
Spirits, in the mortal plane, release hidden souls this day
Guard your loved ones closely, lest they be taken, too
When the time has come, alas, they’ll also come for you
Fear not they who visit, regard the plan they must keep
To gather those who’ve lost their way, gather in the sheep
Lead them to greener pastures, far away from hurt and pain
Then remind us, there will be a day, we’ll be together, again
Creator of days
Awakens sleepy flora
Beneath hardened grounds
By softening soil with rain
Nourishing with Heaven’s touch
Have a blessed Sunday  ❤
Two maidens, quite fair, with the sly of a fox
Take heed when you greet them, too near
Each holds the one which matches her locks
Pick wisely, or else, face a lifetime of drear
She, who holds white, holds the heavens above
Pristine and untouched, by mere mortal hands
She who holds red, holds the demons below
Eyes closed, she drips vile, where she stands
Cloaked as forest foxes, though, easy to tell
Who is who, they still have their ways of hiding
Do you really know, which one you have met?
Think quickly, there is no time for deciding!
As the boat drew nearer to the arch
She could see what the others meant
This was not just any ordinary bridge
Certainly not one she should circumvent
Rather one, whose reflection, did cast
A full circle, ever still, in the water’s flow
And on the other side, could be seen
The gentle breezes, of winds that blow
Serenity lived, beyond the stone expanse
She was anxious, now, to make it through
Knowing she’d never get a second chance
She crossed over, disappearing from view
