She lies there alone
Surely facing unknown
Her body, is lost in a drift

Unaware, of what might be
Though her eyes truly see
Her body, is lost in a rift

Trying hard to stay strong
Oh, but this is so wrong!
She doesn’t deserve this plight

Machines click and beep
As she tries not to sleep
Never to give up the fight

Colleen’s poetry challenge for this week is synonyms only!  Her two words are End and Hurry.  Check out Colleen’s blog to find which forms of poetry are acceptable for this challenge.  Have fun!

Written as a Double Etheree, my synonyms are Fragment and Bustle.

A
Crystal
Flurries down
Rushing to meet
A man made of white.
Top hat upon his head
Eyes of coal, a carrot nose,
Mittened hands, endless snowball fights
Days of youth, returning within us.
The bustle of the holiday season.
The coming together of family,
Dearest to our hearts, celebrating
A thankfulness, many blessings
Each one, a mere fragment, of
Years gone by, call to mind
All who have gathered
Bringing with them
Tidings of
Great joy,
Love

Watch, as sun blushes

Shyly setting in the west

Tis the end of day

Should it come to an end, never to remain

My world, restricted, again and again

A finite place, I have come to loathe

Trapped by limits, naked, unclothed

Living inside of me, a place to call home

Colorful nights, in vibrant monotone

Watching the shadows, creep in with a smile

Knowing they won’t last more than awhile

Yet, I still have this time, should I complain?

As I listen to the infinite, whisper in vain

In the cool of night

A lonesome whistle exhales

Another journey’s end
