She lies there alone
Surely facing unknown
Her body, is lost in a drift
Unaware, of what might be
Though her eyes truly see
Her body, is lost in a rift
Trying hard to stay strong
Oh, but this is so wrong!
She doesn’t deserve this plight
Machines click and beep
As she tries not to sleep
Never to give up the fight

This is beautiful and brought tears to my eyes. It reminded me of losing my mother and my first wife Lee. I’ve missed your poetry. 😎❤

Thank you, dear friend. I have not been writing and am sadly not looking to it, either. Miss you. ❤

This is so tragic and yet played out everywhere given the current restrictions.

This is written about my mom, who is in critical condition. I stop breathing every time the phone rings. And the worst part, I can’t be with her…

Oh, Dorinda, I’m so sorry to hear this. My heart breaks for you. My mom, who’s in a nursing home, and I talk about this all the time. So sad.
