She reaches in the night
Unafraid to feel the burn
Stretching toward the light
Naked in the city street
She is standing in the storm
Of sparks beginning to gather
Like bees about to swarm
She feels the power flowing
Ever closer, ever bright
One quick touch is all it takes
To free her from her plight

Standing, hiding behind his father, she could see his small face staring in bewilderment.
How hideous, she thought, that they should bring a child to my death.
Here she was, about to meet her demise, in a way not even suited for a pig. She glared at the man, as he shielded his son, and mouthed something to him. The woman standing next to him gasped. In an instant, they were gone from the crowd, and the young boy with them. Jocelyne sneered. This was far from over, for even from the depths of her grave, she would return to claim what she decided, on her death day, was rightfully hers. With her final living thought, sealed in her hardened heart, she felt the blade slice through her, again and again, until she felt no more.

Pour me another
The wicked elixir
Coating my palate
Blurring reality
The golden colors
Soaking through my pores
Intently causing
A sense of ethereality
Standing up
The ground gives way
And I float
Into indifference

I get lost, in an atmosphere seldom found on any living surface.
Here, I can discover the multitudes of mystery,
the magical fantasy,where dreams
are not dreams, but pure reality,
set in the deepest valleys of my mind.
I no longer wish to be found, for I have discovered
that one true place, a place where I can spend hours,
in tune,with my surroundings,
in the mystical air that floats without care.
In this, I can find myself,
no longer lost but newly born,
amongst the evergreens and flora,
amid the waking of the new dawn,
aflight with the butterflies,
asleep with the stars….
I am a writer.
