She juggled her life

Made it fit into the day

Until, she ran out

Felled by wasted distractions

She squandered her existence

When buying a home, keep a watchful eye

On what’s hidden, by each rock formation

It’s a good guess, no matter how hard you try

You can’t remove them, without aggravation

God is So Good! ~ #poetry of #faith #truestory

It started out a quite dreary day
The weather was misbehaving
Seems poor Swifty was feeling it, too
Still, out in the rain, she’d be braving

She went a few feet, on top of the tar
But something just didn’t seem right
There was a clunk from her front end
Then on popped that dashboard light

The little thing that shows a tire
When the air inside has gone down
So much for adventures in Walmart
This made Swifty’s owners frown

Turning around for the station
Swifty kept up a steady pace
Waited for Neil to fill’er up
The station was a busy place

The light on the dashboard was steady
Yet, the gauge said the air was thirty-two
Maybe the problem was more than that
Neil and Dorinda weren’t sure what to do

Deciding to head up the highway
Swifty felt fine and was strong
The light on the dash was still glowing
Yet, Swifty was moving along

Her first stop would be Joann’s fabrics
To pick up a notion for fixing some gear
Then they’d head off to Home Depot
But something did happen, oh dear!

The wheel was sputtering and shaking
Swifty was losing some control
Stopping to see what had gone wrong
Seems the air had escaped, as a whole!

The tire was flat, as flat as could be
There was nothing to do but park
Pull out the donut from the trunk
With a few unmentionable remarks

Grab the jack and the lug wrench
If something else could go wrong, it did
Only half the jack was in its space
Poor Neil, started flipping his lid

So they dialed the kiddies, hoping for a save
But each was not able to help them
One had no car, the other was too far
Things were starting to look mighty grim

When out of nowhere, he was standing
A gentleman and his two sons
He held a jack from his own trunk
Pretty soon they had it all done

Neil tried to give him some cash
A thank you for saving the day
The gentleman replied,
“I’m a pastor, God simply has sent me this way”

He blessed us both before he left
Said he did what any man should
Next time you think He’s not watching
Look around, you’ll see, God is so Good!

A Note: I’m sure, by now, you’ve figured out Swifty is my husband’s car. She wound up with a flat tire, the jack was missing the main piece of the crank (we bought the car used), and this lovely man, Santos, and his family, stopped without hesitation, changed the tire, blessed us and were on their way.  God truly is watching over.  My faith has grown even stronger by this act of kindness.   I also have the mass times for his church.  You can bet I’ll be there to hear him preach! ❤

Oh, hi there, I wasn’t expecting you

Please excuse me, if you don’t mind

I made my over here, for what, no clue

But, it’s something I hope I can find

Lately, I’m lost, don’t know what to do

I wonder if you’d help me, in kind

Find the thing, blocked from my view

Especially, if I try looking behind

I think I’ve gotten myself into a stew

If I don’t find it soon, I’ll be in a bind

What’s that you say, just buy it new?

Great idea, ah, at last, I can unwind…

…Now, what was it I was looking for?

Tea Time Talk – #3 #TeaTimeTalk

Well, here we are again, the week is over, and I’m so happy to see you! Grab your tea, iced or hot, oh! and a coffee for my girl, Annette, and let’s talk! Should you like to bring along any snacks, please feel free.  🙂

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: last Sunday was a bit hectic, but overall a good day.  I wound up doing the grocery shopping and errands then instead of Saturday.  So much for a day of rest.

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I have a group on Facebook called “Let’s Talk Poetry & More!”  We talk about our favorite poets, writers, and quotes.  It’s not a group for self-promotion although I am considering opening one day a week just for that.  I’d love it if you joined us!!

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I didn’t have the day off for President’s Day.  I have such a terrible boss. 😀 I did, however, finish the last edit on my next book, “Short & not always Sweet“, Short Stories, Passages and Poetic Prose, and will be releasing it soon.  Cover by moi! I’m so excited!!  Yes, shameless self-promo, I know, but someone’s gotta do it!!  😉

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: that I’d love to be a meteorologist.  Why?  Because I can be wrong most of the time and still get paid!  They keep bracing us for these snow events, and we keep getting flurries.  I’m not complaining, no way!  But enough already.  Bring on spring!!

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: the full Supermoon was spectacular!!  Although it was cold, I was out there, taking it all in.  Do you think there was ever life on the moon? That craters were really parts of oceans and lakes, and mountains were once lush and green?  Can you imagine?!

2/19/19 Supermoon, The Snow Moon

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: they finally got it right and it snowed.  We were under a state of emergency, but we’re lucky if we got 3 inches.  What was that I said earlier about being a meteorologist? lol  Now they’re calling for temps in the fifties, so bye bye snow!

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I had a good laugh today.  In my email I found, from Amazon, a request to rate one of my books.  The best part, they want to rate my PROOF of a book not even released.  I think they have some glitches in their system they need to iron out.  But it did give me a chuckle!!

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: my depression (yes, I suffer from) has deepened despite the laugh from Amazon.  I am having great difficulty with packing, to the point I haven’t even started.  It’s heart-breaking, realizing I have to move away and move on.  How do you pack up a life time of memories, into cardboard boxes?  Sigh…

If we were sipping tea and talking I would tell you: I spent a much needed day, with the hubby, doing nothing.  Although the sky was cloudy, my mood was definitely lifted! A perfect way to end the week.

As for this week coming up:

If we were sipping tea, basking in the sun and talking I would tell you: I have a doctor’s appointment.  Just my usual three month checkup.  And blood work.  Yuck

If we were sipping tea, basking in the sun and talking I would tell you: as much as I’ve enjoyed our time together this week, I need to scoot and do the food shopping for my Mom.  Have a great week ahead!!   ❤
