January’s prompts where a fun combination of ~M and myself.  We challenged you to figure out who was who.  Did you guess?  Some of you were spot on, others, not so much!  The following poem is my finale to this month.  I’m still challenging you!  😉

Let me know, dear people, who was who, and how did you tell?

Some were done by little ole me, and the others, were by Michelle

We write in very similar ways, why, some even say we are sisters

But it’s a secret, I can’t say, only ones to know, are the misters

January, a month of prompts, blended perfectly together, by two

Beguiling or dark, whimsical or romantic, which ones did you do?

Alas, it now has come to an end, and February is calling my name

This time, it’s all up to ~M, so she’s the one you’ll have to blame!

She tried to play the comedienne

When her writing, she forgot, again

Gave teacher excuses

Blamed it on the Muses

Claiming their words got stuck in her pen

Silently, behind the window
Lost, in a house of dismay

Reflective moments in the glass
She sits there, day after day

Too many stones, left upturned
Not enough time to amend them

Excuses made, in every which way
Shattered, as she tries to defend them

Emptiness, fills the quiet room
As she refuses to believe, it is she

Who causes this to happen, over again
Defying, her own inadequacies

Days Grow Dim ~ #NaPoWriMo #darkpoetry

I can feel the soothing drops of rain

Seeping through the pores of my skin

Washing away the hurt and pain

Cleansing my soul, from deep within

Reaching inside, I drown in my sorrow

Letting it dwell, in a pool of my blood

Wondering, will I see tomorrow?

I open my heart, to let in the flood

That swiftly carries my lifeless limbs

Down a river that has no name

Tis then I realize, my days grow dim

Once again, I’m the one who’s to blame

Friday Fantasy ~ The One to Blame – #poetry #JanuaryWriting

Behind the mask, lies an elegant face

Bedeviled by those, they, who will debase

She hides who she is, to keep them at bay

Wondering how she ever got this way

They tease, as if they’ll win the catch

She knows better, no chance to scratch

The surface, of which she hides, deep below

Never letting them in, nor letting them go

Beneath her, she glows, a glittering shine

Laughs, as they falter, these ignorant swine

For there was just he, who kept her in throes

A scoundrel, she would never dare oppose

The scars that have her, they hide her shame

For only she knows, she’s the one, to blame
