I stumbled upon you

Huddled, under the

Fragrant air of autumn

Chilled, from the frost

Of November’s morn

Beauty, frozen in time

You called to me

Soft, sweet melodies

Of voices intertwined

A chorus, in harmony

With the earth below

And the sky above

A lullaby, singing,

Of winter’s approach

Wrap me in your golden threads

Embrace me in falling leaves

Then feel my body gently sigh

Caressed by autumn’s breeze

If I Make a Wish

If I make a wish
To chase the dark away
Will you hear my whisper
In the boughs that sway

From the autumn winds
That whip and stray
As they whisper back
In a sullen way

“That night has fallen
To skies of gray
We will have to wait
For return of day….”

Shades of Change

She flutters
Like the falling leaves
With wings the shades of change
Melding
With the autumn trees
Her colors rearrange

To shades
Of green and vibrant red
And orange-yellow hues
Beguiling
In her subtle glow
She makes her fall debut
