The Ocean and Me ~ #poetry

I stand on the shoreline, the ocean, so free

I feel the breeze flowing, sensually

The rush of the waves, the smell of the air

I dream of the beach, and wish I was there

Where cooling water, refreshes my skin

Washing away, all of yesterday’s sins

Baptizing my being, cleansing my soul

Letting the tides, take total control

I want to stay sleeping, in this sweet fantasy

The sand, and the breeze, the water, and me

For My Sanity ~ #poetry

Oh dear, here goes my muse again

She’s really becoming quite the pain

Throws tantrums just to get her way

Won’t let me sleep, on any day

Until of course, she’s fully sated

Digesting words, regurgitated

From simply too many pages written

I think my muse is finally smitten

Perhaps she’ll leave me, let me be

I can only hope, for my sanity

Close your eyes, and pray

Be thankful for life’s wonders

Lest, they pass you by

My buddy, Hoover, giving thanks for his bounty  🙂

Friday Fantasy ~ Our Far Off Tree – #poetry

Come visit we, in our far off tree
We’ll show you around the place

Duck your head, watch where you tread
We haven’t very much space

It’s enough for us, we don’t like fuss
Now, don’t be shy or daunted

Just come inside, where we abide
We hope this tree’s not haunted!

Find a chair or two, that must fit you
Else sit upon the floor

Take off your shoes, and have a snooze
Be sure you shut the door

Draw Me In ~ #poetry #freeverse

I want to draw you

Memorize the contours of your face

Sketch the intricate lines of your eyes

Your nose, your mouth, that jawline

That draws me in, every time I’m near you

I want to erase the worry,

And replace the doubt

With the delicate strokes of my hands
