We have a new member of our chipmunk family.  His name is Stubby.  Some have asked how we get the names for our chipmunks, (Chipper – quite obvious, Hoover- sucks up seed like a vacuum & Dennis – he’s the menace), and how do we know who’s who.  We can tell by their tails. (Chip has a normal tail, Hoover has a shorter, flatter one, Dennis’s tail is extremely long) Scroll down  🙂

In this case, well, Stubby is pretty self explanatory  🙂

Gliding through the blue

A daytime wanderer flies

On his journey home

The “Other” ~ #freeverse

Will it ever end, the constant knocking

Of raindrops against window panes,

Like little ones trying desperately

To come inside, hoping to find warmth and safety

And let it snuggle them to its breast, comforting

The nightmares that challenge them.

Every night, the sin of the “other”,

Wraps itself in the blanket, stifling

The heartbeat of the child who lay there

Quietly, fearful, to speak a word, lest he

Or she feel the wrath of the storm

Perhaps it is not the skies raining at all

Perhaps it is the child, who knows not

What love really is, only what they were told

By the “other”, whose only love is a lie

Statistics regarding child sexual abuse can be found HERE, however, the Justice Dept. has not updated its records in five years.  Shame on them.  If you believe a child is in danger, please don’t hesitate…call the authorities.  You could be saving a child’s life.

With a flick of a wrist, she draws them about

No need for a costume, she’s real, there’s no doubt

They fly around her, like suitors, not pets

No matter their fate, they’ll have no regrets

For they are the ones, the protectors of she

Who will fall to their death, her sweet devotees

Should they be unable to fight away others

Jeopardize this woman, their chiropteran mother

She’s unafraid to reveal, as nighttime does fall

That she’s merely a girl, with bats that enthrall

Though she is no marvel, in DC she reigns

Searching for the likes of a man they call Wayne

Let the wind take you

High above, into the clouds

To places unknown
