A night on the town

Oh, no, not for me

I’d rather stay in

Catch a flick on TV

Kick off my shoes

Recline in my chair

No make-up at all

Nor care for my hair

Grab a bag of chips

Munch til I’m content

Next, find the ice cream

On this, I’m hell bent

We are merely sheep

Languishing in the teardrops

Of a weeping Earth

Changing of the Season – #poetry of #spring

An air settles
Upon the Earth
The subtlety
Of spring’s rebirth
That gathers round
Expands its girth
Anxious to let the breeze in

Flowers bloom
In vibrant form
Wakening now,
Tis their norm
To feel the rain,
A nurturing storm
This is their only reason

To decorate land,
In pastel hue
Add in vibrancy,
A pinch or two
Looking forward
To what else they’ll do
With the changing of the season

Empty Nest – #poetry of the #spirit

A home built high
Upon a tree
Once held the young
Now sits, empty

They’ve flown away
A world to see
Oh how I wish
They, were me

I’d fly above
This world, unrest
A silent tear
Shed on my quest

Then cry aloud
At my own behest
Won’t someone join me
In this nest?

Where we can heed
From one, above
The somber coo
Of a mourning dove

Who fears humanity
All hate, thereof
She prays that Earth
Will find her love

Where once a man
Was born, so free
Taking pride in all
This majesty

Let’s fly away
Perhaps we’ll see
Just how beautiful
This world could be

On Lock-down

Hi Everyone!

I hope you’re all safe within the confines of your homes, and haven’t caused bodily harm to any family member also trapped inside with you.

In all seriousness…I do hope you are well.  We’re all good here.  The town shuts down at 8PM.  Food establishments can remain open but for take out only.  I can’t visit my mom because the nursing home is on lock-down.  No one in or out!! Hubby still has to work because he cannot work from home, and Lys has had all her pet sitting jobs cancelled. But better safe than sorry.  Who knows what could happen.  Hopefully, social distancing will help contain the beast that is COVID-19.

Please heed the guidelines put forth by your local & state government.  It’s for your, and everyone else’s,  protection.

Love you all,

Dorinda
