In a world so full of umbrage, where so many can easily hate

We dare to quest for better, in a time, or place we can relate

To feel peace, love, and forgiveness, without going to extremes

We are all the same, we’re human, striving, to fulfill our dreams

Show me a place, secluded, away

Somewhere, no one else can find me

A place where shadows come to play

And break the ties that now bind me

Dear night, fall fast, in winter months

Tis when I can be myself, and breathe

In the cold, where sighs can be seen

Crystals form, on my skin, unsheathed

And as they cling to me, oh, how I try

To escape the light, however stark

But I cannot face the glare, so blinding

Please, let me find, a place, in the dark

She was nothing but common
Until she donned the mask

How ironic, no one could see

The one who was hiding
Perhaps in plain sight

Could’ve, at any time, been me

Makeup didn’t change her
Simply, she was the same

How iconic, she had become

Kept them guessing all the time
The fools, they’d never know

How absurd, and oh, how fun!

They fell at her feet, this maiden
Clung to her, day and night

Seemingly, couldn’t get enough

Outside, she laughed, and toyed
But inside, she was different

From behind the mask, she’d rebuff

I bleed in stars
Lighting, trickling
Chasing the dark
Beyond night’s sky

I bleed in stars
Sparks and flames
Falling, from above
Streaming, fizzling
Eventually dying

I bleed in stars
And everything
In the heavens
Bleeds with me
