sunrise-580379_960_720Golden orb of daylight shine
Deceptive in your glow
No warmth from brilliance do you bring
Upon the earth below

Crystal prisms from clouds above
Tossed about, one by one, adorn
Swirling with the wind so free
Covering ground, in the chill of morn

Flaxen skies peek quietly through
As if they are forbidden
Deceiving hope of warmer days
Behind the clouds, are hidden

Morning Kiss

forest-931706_960_720Mist lies quietly over starless skies
Swaddling the land in a cool damp air
Droplets filled with passing rain
Enveloped in fog that roams without care

Darkness ahead through shrouded passage
Shadows engulfing the light
Ethereal movements that send you astray
Across clouds enraptured by night

A brilliant sun awakens the dawn
And dissipates the lingering mist
Scattered softly on blades of grass
The quintessence of morning’s kiss

Friday Fantasy ~ Betrayal

Fair of face with eyes that glow

The color of forest green in sunlight

Bewitching in their lingering glance

Eclipsed only by the silken cloth

Of the hooded cloak she hides

The secrets trying to escape from

Her lips parted ever so slightly

As she softly whispers his name

Breaking the spell that held your heart
