Dare I close my eyes?
Only to fade into the darkness, that
Suffocates my soul, terrorizes my mind
Thrashes against my being, until I
No longer fight it, but welcome it
Draw it further into my heart, let it
Rip me apart, tear at me, and I
Locked in a cocoon of sweat, succumb
To the sweetness that is the night
The passion and desire of the dark
Knowing, eventually, I will awaken…
I will, won’t I?
