Magic words reveal themselves
From pages of a book
Written once, so long ago
These visions overlooked
Of palaces and kingly men
Of princes, brave and true
Now lost among the scattered mass
Of paper, blown, astrew
A princess in her own right
She holds the book aloft
Its fire glows with radiant light
Its power gently wafts
Conjuring the days of yore
The spirits start to swirl
The prophecy within this book
Of secrets, now unfurled

We will exchange books when we’re done. How’s that sound? I am just in the planning stages right now. Doing character sketches and such. So mine could take awhile. 🙂

Your poem was a reminder to me, that I really need to spend more time on getting it finished. Because I really want to read it! People always say… write the book that you want to read!

This is true. I actually started a novel and have been procrastinating. My daughter keeps at me because she’s read it so far. All I keep hearing is “Come on!! I need to know what happens next!!”

That’s great! It’s good to have somebody around that can keep you motivated. Which is the reason I started this blog in the first place. Definitely not my idea, but I took their advice and I’m enjoying it. I won’t be sharing my book with anybody until it’s completely done. I did that the first time around, and other peoples suggestions really hindered my own thoughts on what I wanted to write.

I actually bounce my thoughts off my daughter. So far, she’s right along with me. I know where I want to take it but I’m still a bit stuck, so it’s on the back burner for now, until the right inspiration hits me
