Jupiter decided to take over Earth
A much larger planet was he
So he jumped over Mars
Left behind many stars
Claiming this would be Earth’s apogee

Earth just smiled, as she waited
Tempted Jupiter to take his shot
Sent him off, quite impaired
Turned around and declared
It would seem that size matters not!

They loved to call her Shadow
Blending in, with foreign sands
Dressed in black, she is darkness
Sharpened sword, held in her hand

She fights the voices, defiantly
They speak evil, to her mind
Wicked thoughts, aplenty
Still, she seeks, until she finds

Wisps of dust, twirling round her
In this place, behind the moon
She watches them create this world
Made up of endless dunes

Trapped inside the sands of time
Caught, in a lasting drought
Shadow returns to her darkness
In the valley of her doubt

Her colors blazed, about the sky
And twinkling stars, stood on standby

They knew better than to eclipse her light
Beaming sheer radiance, in their sight

Purples and blues, adorned her face
Clouds of orange, added to her grace

The lights of the night, beheld her, proud
A nebula, Heaven’s most beautiful cloud

I’ll never understand it
Why men think it’s profound

To stuff their mouths with tobacco
Then spit it out, onto the ground

They chew away on a substance
Tucked neatly in their cheek

I don’t think I could kiss them
Their chances, are rather bleak

Why can’t they find a habit
That the ladies like as well

Like chewing bubble gum instead
I’d find that rather swell

So guys, please forget the chew
It’s so uncouth, and unrefined

Replace it with something minty
This, we’ll surely never mind

Mom sent me on an egg hunt
She said look for pretty colors

But all I really wanted was
My favorite breakfast crullers

She shooed me out the door
Told me to have some fun

Bring back lots of goodies
Enough for everyone

When I got back from the meadow
Mom said, Goodness! What a mess!

What happened, what did you do?
To your brand new Easter dress?

I tried explaining carefully, how
My basket became overloaded!

And when I tried to empty it
All the eggs inside exploded!

Mom looked at me rather strangely
Then a smile came to her face

Laughing she said, it looked much better
Then it did, in the dressmaker’s place
