All this playing

Leaves my tongue hanging out

Just let me bury

My cute little snout

In a bowl of cold water

Please fill it up

Then get out of my way

Cause I’m a thirsty pup!

It’s all rusted now
Torn and tattered
Years of neglect

I wish I could disavow
Thoughts too scattered
Lacking self-respect

I’ve walked a fine line
Unafraid to crossover
My time, so measured

Though forlorn, I am fine
With the promise of clover
And a life, truly treasured

Self-doubt is a lousy affliction

Some even call it an addiction

I just need some desire

To reach up and aspire

Thus, hitting my goals, with conviction

*

Though pinches of positivity

Could bring about creativity

Need to believe who I am

And get with the program

Sounds like the perfect activity!

One morning while sanding my deck

(Which by the way is a pain in the neck)

I fell down in a hole

Met a cute little troll

Now I live there, too, what the heck

Inspired by a true event (sans the troll).

Whatever shall I make for dinner?

The cupboard is bare, nothing new

It has to be something that’s tasty

I know! I’ll make some alphabet stew

I can’t remember where I put them

Those letters, always on the loose

I need to gather enough of them

To allow me, this stew, to produce

Finally finding the package

I take what I need to proceed

An S, a U, two P’s and an E

Exactly the letters I need

But wait! Something is missing

This really is quite bizarre

I thought I had it altogether

But my supper is missing its R
