What lurks around the corner

Can be found within her mind

A kaleidoscope of whirling thoughts

And dreams, of every kind

Piercing eyes await you

Though she refuses to reveal

The true meaning of her being

It’s your heart she dares to steal!

Take heed as you approach her

For it’s sure to be a shock

When you find, there’s no escape

Once you’re caught, in her gridlock

She felt her end drawing near
Watched, as the candles burned
They melted away, drip by drip
As the season slowly turned

Winter’s magic began to dwindle
She felt Spring was on her way
Time was running short, you see
As snow fell, on this dismal day

Waiting, was the hardest part
She knew she had no chance
The flowers would awaken
Sway in the winds, and dance

Until that time, she pondered
Wondered how to make it stop
The cold, still lingered, in her
Making temperatures drop

Soon melted, the snow, beneath her
Filled her with much disdain
Another season, passed her by
Twas the end, of Winter’s reign

We loaded up the bus, headed for the harbor

Tie dyed, flower power, forget about a barber

Surfboards waxed, we’re ready for the waves

Getting high on Mary Jane, gave us all the craves

Bags of chips to satisfy, Boone’s Farm strawberry wine

Watch out world, here we come, we’re feeling mighty fine

Jerry played his Fender Strat, put on quite a show

Last wave calls, time to pack, back in the bus we go

Days drag on, nights are gone, back to reality

Til Saturday, we’re on our way, living life, carefree

Dedicated to denial

She refused to believe what she had seen

All the lies and fabrications

Began to unravel at the seams

Caught in her own confusion

She denied she was ever wrong

She lived in a world of illusion

Something he knew all along

I had the pleasure of collaborating with the Divine Ms. M!  Michelle’s words are in italics, mine follow.  We hope you enjoy!!

The intense attraction you feel

When it’s the only thing you need

Knowing the hunger is real

You’d crawl on your knees, till they bleed

Your heart longs to taste it again

You know that it must be Heaven sent

You reach for it, greedily, but then

You realize you gave it up for Lent
