Cluttered with words
That don’t make sense
No space in my head to expand
Jumbled art, falling apart
Trying hard to understand

The letters clump
One on one
It’s getting harder to decipher
Slithering around , hissing profound
About to strike like a poisonous viper

Then the clearing begins
As I sort it all out
Finding time to slowly subdue it
Quietly thinking, words finally shrinking
Til someone decides to add to it

Hearts that spill of love divine

Feelings merged and intertwined

Unspoken words upon a page

Memories of a restless age

Written down for mortal self

Left in pages on a shelf

More than mere simplicity

The lyrics of our symphony

Magic words reveal themselves

From pages of a book

Written once, so long ago

These visions overlooked

Of palaces and kingly men

Of princes, brave and true

Now lost among the scattered mass

Of paper, blown, astrew

A princess in her own right

She holds the book aloft

Its fire glows with radiant light

Its power gently wafts

Conjuring the days of yore

The spirits start to swirl

The prophecy within this book

Of secrets, now unfurled

I write in a genre

Oft misunderstood

I’ve tried to explain it

The best that I could

These aren’t just words

That float in my head

They are my soul

Releasing instead

The passion inside me

Pounding deep in my heart

I am a writer, a poet

And my words I impart

On all who will listen

This is my true devotion

Flowing out from within

Like my endless emotion
