Soaring high above

She was more beauty than plain

Too fast to adore

You were a temporary thought, I think

The kind that blows in with the breeze

And departs just as quickly

Enough to ruffle my mind

Like the shaking of the leaves

As they quake in the morning air

It makes me drift away with them

Perchance, to catch that one balloon

Released, before it was ever caught

Disenchanted, my heart disbands

As pieces fall into your hands

Memories cast aside as none

Broken more, become undone

Once so perfect, in every way

Now so bitter, we cannot stay

We’ve fallen into this empty space

Love’s gone forever, without a trace

His touch, like a jolt of lightning

Made her sizzle, without the pain

His voice, a stormy reminder

Of a love, forever, in vain
