Platinum rockets outshine the night

Setting on fire, this battle of wills

Radioactive, they tarnish the skies

Feeling nothing, only out for the kill

Men, women, children, die horrible deaths

Tragedy strikes, not so unexpected

War torn and ravished, faraway lands

Unable to fight back, quite unprotected

Peace needs a place, to call its home

An Earthly portal, to welcome all

Three nations together, cannot do it alone

For when evil wins, the mighty will fall

My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Syria, and to the men and women of our armed forces, along side France and Great Britain.  May God watch over them…

In the darkness, the cold wind howls

Trying desperately to get in, to claim

I listen quietly, hoping she’ll leave

Still, I hear her whispering my name

Come outside and dance, my friend

She calls to me, again and again

It’s much too dark out there, for me

I’d rather stay inside, within

There’s no deterring her taunting

She whips up a tempest, her war

The sounds she makes are haunting

My soul follows hers, evermore

She hides behind the fence posts

Where no one sees her there

Cloaked by wooden slats and nails

She stays hidden from the glare

Of hatred thrown about her

Lives taken, for mere display

She no longer wants to live

In a land that prays this way

Someday she’ll find the courage

To walk away from all this hate

But for now, she stays behind the fence

For now, she has to wait

On this, and every Memorial Day, remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us, so that we may continue to live in freedom.  May God always hold them in his loving hands.

Sitting on the moon above

Looking down upon the land

I have to wonder what it is

That people find so grand

There are wars without intention

And rebels, without a cause

I wish they would just stop it all

Take a deep breath, and pause

Find the hope in one another

It seems long ago, forgotten

Throw away that hatred

Into the trash, the rotten

Join together, hand in hand

In peace and joy, there of

So when I look down from my perch

All I can see, is love
