Has a terrible time telling truths

No matter the angle in which we view
Seems it’s always changing before us
They claim what you see is normalcy
No reason to cause such a fuss
Multicolored phrases
Catch on the tips of tongues
How can we believe the words?
When the truths become undone
Seems simple to tell the story
When the lies come too quickly to mind
Not so, when you try to remember them
Who you are is now clearly defined
How easy it is to burst that bubble
When it’s made only of water and soap
Much easier to tell the truth, my friend
Much harder to shorten the rope

Mysterious eyes of icy blue
Hide the lies that once were true
Shrouded behind her feathered masque
Afraid that she’ll be brought to task
For what she did so long ago
No, what she did, they cannot know
Nor who she was before that day
When the fire left her, went away
And turned her heart as cold as rime
Sealing memories, lost in time
Frozen, she can no longer feel
A hardened heart, she must conceal
