Prepared for the ultimate battle
She made her presence known
A tigress she, on mountain high
Wanted next, to rule the throne

Standing above the land below
She need only stare to frighten
They, who bowed down to her
Who deemed herself, a titan

Til they, who called her majesty
Found her secret, but didn’t tell
That there was nothing noble here
And soon, the warning, a final knell

Where once, no one could get close
They surrounded this deceitful knave
And the crown, placed, upon her head
Would soon be taken, to her grave

Betrayed, by the one they worshiped
They quickly slayed her, on the spot
She, who had prepared for this battle
Forgot the one, in which she was not

Tonight’s quarter moon, through the trees, in my backyard.

Celestial light, so golden, in the night

You shine brilliantly, our summer light

With Jupiter to our left, ashimmer

And Venus to our right, aglimmer

The skies, filled, with worlds, unknown

You guide us to them, from your throne

Author’s Note:  Tonight’s sky is quite the story teller!  To the left of the moon is Jupiter, to the lower right is the star Spica and lower still is Venus, and above is the star Arcturus!  I hope you get a chance to see them all  🙂

Emerald green, a color, so splendid

Red headed beauty, she sits there alone

Surrounded by a lily, reflecting her aura

Day after day, she stays by her throne

The queen of the fey, jewels on her neck

Barely clothed, she is a spirit, so free

Casting her joy, on those who go by

Night after night, this is where she shall be

Should you ever make it past her way

Yet, do not see her by her chair

Smile and bow your head to her

She always knows you are there

Laid to rest at ruins feet, battered from the fight

A castle once known, now in defeat, oh how it lost its might

The many who have fought there, now dead among the grounds

Gather once again, where they, can shout their victory sounds

A cry among them, hollow, throughout the empty stone

No kingdom left to follow, they are left without a throne

Yet, still they wander, quite knightly, along these sacred lands

Where kings now lie, quit rightly, by their own very hands
