nightsky
Weary bones, diminishing light

Sunset, gathering in the night

Tired limbs begin to drag

Aching bones begin to nag

Looking for a resting place

Serene, a quiet, secret space

To dream my dreary thoughts away

And sleep, until the light of day

He scattered my thoughts

Paled the vivid colors, blocked,

Then frightened away my dreams

He was darkness, the ebony night;

Chasing shadows round my head,

His visions, quite obscene

Like a nightmare, far too real;

My slumber, shackled,

Chained, within my silent scream

He held the key, I’m no longer free

From the darkness of my memory

Reflections are still

Yet, the midnight sun shimmers

Where the waters sleep

Inquietude

It’s 3AM and I’m still awake

I walk to the window and pull back the drape

And stare at a moonless starlit sky

And wonder aloud, why is it I

Cannot find the sleep I so desperately crave

These thoughts overtake me, to a point where I cave

And slink back to my desk like a cat on the prowl

After all, it is why I am called the Night Owl

Old Man Moon who Shines so Bright

Sleep under thine own very Light

Gentle Waters still in Slumber

Forest beauty Unencumbered

Cast your Glow, Subdued, Agleam

Let the Night Vanish into a Dream
