The melody kept playing with her mind

Bringing tears to her porcelain face

A memory, of a man, who once was so kind

Now he was, simply, her only disgrace

Warned by so many, to keep up her guard

She ignored them, said they were wrong

Soon to find out, life really was so hard

And he left her, with nothing but a song

Each night, she dressed, in the mirror, wept

Seems for her, it was the same, every day

Tis what happens, when you lack self-respect

And with time, the music faded away

It’s all rusted now
Torn and tattered
Years of neglect

I wish I could disavow
Thoughts too scattered
Lacking self-respect

I’ve walked a fine line
Unafraid to crossover
My time, so measured

Though forlorn, I am fine
With the promise of clover
And a life, truly treasured
