Another rumble pierces the quiet
The start of another raucous riot
Thunderous sounds, lightning flashing
Clouds open up, rain falls, thrashing
Pummeling nature, impeding paradise
Flowers lay fallen, a cruel sacrifice
Through open curtains, I see it unfold
Watching as skies become uncontrolled
Then my eyes grow heavy, to stay awake I must fight
Til I fall asleep, to the sound of the rain, in the night

Chiseled from the stone
Laid down by the sands of time
Covered in moss, she blended
Into beautiful movement
Away from the boulders
That no longer bound her
She found freedom, sought
The hidden cave, where once
A man laid, the sacrificial lamb
Taken from human hands, and
Received in divinity, for she was
The Angel of the Stone, sent down
From God above, to carry Him home
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Good morning! I’d like to share the synopsis of a novel I’m working on, titled “Devil’s Pond“. I hope it leaves you wanting more 🙂

They were inseparable. Five young friends whose sense of adventure usually got them into trouble. This time was no different. Venturing out into what would turn out to be a stormy night, they headed for an area they were told was off limits. The sand lot was a forbidden place, a place no one spoke of, where no one dared step foot on, until now. Intrigue ruled out over warnings and a game of hide and seek commenced. Until one remained hidden.
As the storm bears down on them, they run, frightened for themselves and their missing friend. Not caring about the consequences that would await them, they quickly gather their parents to explain. But something is wrong. Baffled, the children wonder why Father Tom is the one to arrive first. Why isn’t anyone calling the police? How will their friend ever be found? And what price will they pay for getting too close to Devil’s Pond?

The skies grew dark
On this somber day
The sunlight diminished
Into clouds of gray
That let the rains
Pour down around
With a thunderous clap
In a deafening sound
“Father, forgive them,
for they know not what they do”
The time had come
His father awaited
God called him home
As the soldiers berated
The faithful that wept
For this man they betrayed
Sacrificed for their sins
On this mournful Friday
