Slowly awaken

A Storm Crept ~ #poetry of the #sky

A rumble pierced the quiet
The sound began to grow
I knew exactly what was coming
A storm crept in, ever so slow

Louder, as the raindrops fell
Accompanied by such clatter
The sound man had the volume up
I was afraid the glass would shatter

Still I sat there watching
As the sky lit up, rather jagged
I waited by the window
Another bolt of lightning, staggered

Playing with the land below
The clouds released their heat
The spectacle above my head
Was quite the incredible feat

Still, as slowly as it settled in
It departed twice as fast
With a gentle rolling thunder
The storm was calm, at last
