Black in light
No color in sight
Sunlight turns to gray

Darkness bites
The spectrum fights
Say goodbye to another day

Sky of night
No longer bright
Its lantern gone astray

Til ebon takes flight
And morn wakes with delight
Casting the darkness away

Ebony night has slowly passed

The light of day breaks free, at last

And casts away the shadows gloom

Awakening lilac’s gentle bloom

Fragrance scents the floral buds

Opening quietly in a flood

Of purple beauty below the skies

Heaven’s manna before our eyes

Hiding in Plain Sight

Waking from a fretful sleep

I feel a tremor slight

Have you been watching all this time

Throughout my restless night

How could I not see you

Hiding in plain sight

Or see your shadow roam about

In the echoes of the light

Was it your soft whisper

That brushed by me in flight

A final request from your own lips

To save you from your plight

Sun begins to Light the Day

Whitecaps Waking on the Bay

Ocean’s Tide begins to Churn

Morning’s Beauty begins to Burn

To Fuel the Warming Golden Spark

And Push away the Clouds of Dark

So Comfort may you Find in Flight

The very Peace of Dawn’s First Light

Come my Friend, Stay awhile with me

Together we’ll Gently ride the Waves

On the Poetry of the Sea

This poem was inspired by a comment my friend, Erika Kind, left on one of my poems,  I thank her for her wonderful words and continued support on my journey.
