Rosie loved to visit, the old woman, at the bakery shop
Down the road she’d scurry, sometimes she’d even hop
She wanted to be the first, to grab her favorite tart
One covered with whipped cream, and raspberries, in a heart
Every day, ole Gertie, would try to sell her another
But Rosie, would have none of it, this was for her mother
Perhaps a blueberry tart, or prune, how would that do?
Pineapple, or strawberry, or maybe something new?
How about blackberry, or maybe she’d like to try this?
No, she said, shaking her head, the raspberries, she’d insist!
Gertie understood, as Rosie eyed the confectionery
“All tarts may be yummy, but not all tarts are raspberry”

As a child I was always a rambunctious thing
But I’ve mellowed as I’ve aged, and I’m lucky
To be able to spend time, with verdant spring
Meanwhile, still continuing to be, ever so plucky

I do not like green eggs and spam
Send them to Pebbles, and BamBam
They can eat them on a plate
Or share them both, with Mr. Slate
Or maybe Fred would rather eat
Green eggs and spam, oh, what a treat
But Barney, he’s a lot like me
He won’t touch them, no sir-ee
So, if you serve green eggs and spam
Don’t invite me, I’m sorry ma’am
I cannot stomach all that goo
Just think, there will be more, for you!
I do not like green eggs and spam
I much prefer raspberry jam
But that’s another poem, true
For ~M has labeled it twenty-two!
