It’s quite curious, this thing we call life
There is irony in the way that we live it
Our sarcasm far outweighs our strife
It’s as if we’re trying hard, to forgive it

Nightfall
Fog settles in
Hides the land
Shrouding all
With its veil
Eeriness
In the distance
Lights
Through the dark
Each dimmer than
The one before
Shine
Shadows
Take control
Hovering
Ever so slightly
Spirits
Searching
Seeking
A new host
As I stand
Waiting
In the night

How long have I been perched here?
How much of my time has passed by?
The leaves on the trees have fallen
The birds make their way, in the sky
The road, by the house, hasn’t changed
It’s still dusty, when winds come through
Yet, that big old tree, somehow survives
But my thoughts, have now faded, of you
How silly of me to just wait, and wait
However could I do this every day?
Wasting away, the hours of my life
On someone, who has surely gone astray
As the sun sets in the distance
Twilight-covered clouds draw near
I won’t be sitting, upon this rock
I’ve made my decision, my dear
Should you make your way back to the country
You’ll find, I have better things to do
It did finally hit, and rather bluntly
I’ve had a long history of nearly nothing, with you

When I can longer find the courage to face the day
And the things I have been chosen for, go wrong
I hand it over to my Keeper, His love shines the way
With His most serene, and tranquil light, making me strong

Like an inferno, raging on
My heart burns for you
Longing for the touch
Of the flame you ignite
I melt, in your hands
As you invade my soul
With desirous thoughts
Answered, exhausted
We burn, in passion’s heat
Setting the world on fire
