Friday Fantasy ~ Chameleon

She lurks amongst the Wood and Reed
Luring you in without a Word
Blended with the Forest Seed
Her Outline becomes too Blurred

Invisible Movements Catch your eye
You cannot see Who is there
Fluttering Softly, like a Butterfly
She Spins you Round without a Care

Subtle Tones change her Mood
Her Disguise is merely Fey
Alas, you find you can no longer Elude
She is a Chameleon Stalking her Prey

Pastel Dreams

I dream in pastels soft

Muted tones invade my thoughts

With eyes closed, mind aloft

Subtle colors being sought

In Delicate hue

Of pink, green and blue

Pale yellow on my skin

As the morning light begins

Ethereal visions skillfully drawn

A dream I long to look upon

Chilled with the Night Sky

Outside
Chilled with
The Night Sky
No Heavenly Light
To Illuminate the Dark
Only gray Clouds
Covering Ebony

A Doe grazes
Gently lifting her head
Inquiring why I
Should be Standing
Uncloaked
In the Bitter Cold

Wisps of Breath
Paint the Air
With Thoughts
Unknown
Outside
Chilled
With the Night Sky

A Lover’s call, the Howling Wind
Secrets drifting, Carried
Through the Frosted, Frozen air
Exhausted thoughts, Harried

Floating with the Atmosphere
The Whispers glide in Silence
Lost Aloft through all these Years
Embedded in Defiance

Strengthening with Fierce Resolve
Forever vowed to Hide
Into the Winds the Words Dissolve
The Secret now Denied

Snowflakes fall around me

Dancing about in the frosty air

Covering me in a blanket of white

Warming me in the chill of night
