The sun was shining

As raindrops softly fell

From darkened clouds

Not yet awakened

By morning’s light

jetty-593401_960_720Sunset beckons the tides to roll

Drawing you deeper into your soul

Reaching beyond the calling of day

Taking you farther and farther away

As nighttime descends upon oceans of blue

Covering waters with darkness anew

You slip past the shadows of ebony night

Awaiting the comfort of morning’s first light

glowing-216042_960_720Whisper softly
In muted tones
Unheard choirs
Of nature’s pure bliss
Held quietly
In the morning light
As dawn reaches
Into shades of white

Whisper softly
In darkness unknown
Unheard choirs
Left to reminisce
Held quietly
As dreams take flight
And dawn reaches
Into shades of night

Far beyond the river flow
Where light awaits its finding
Imagination begins to grow
With life before me shining

Glistening stones lay side by side
Placed by nature’s loving hands
Step by step they are my guide
As I journey across the lands

As sunlight gleams its mystical ways
Beckoning to me to abide
The water reflects its magical haze
I’m one with the morningtide

And she leads me on a path brand new
Her adventures must surely await me
My dreams come clearly into view
As her calming waters sedate me

4 AM, early morning, evening, midnight, morning, Night Owl Poetry, PM, poems, poetry, work, writing

The time of day when work winds down
And businesses close around the town

When the clock ticks slowly minute by minute
And I’m not really sure if I’m actually with it

Til the midnight hour approaches my eyes
Awakens my mind and I don my disguise

When the words flow easily from pen to paper
And the only sound heard is the coffee maker

That keeps me going til the clock strikes four
Then reality invades as sleep shuts the door
