Page after page, and all through the night

Amongst the clouds and stars, he read

A beacon, his lantern would always stay lit

By the moon, as the words filled his head

Yet the moon never quarreled, about the time

After all, he thought, the child is learning

So patiently, he awaited the morning sun

Till then, he kept the nightlight burning

My Light
When the moon shines full

Against the blackest night

And the stars blaze, with a fire

That lights Heaven’s celestial soul

It is then, in the ebony hours

I find my light

Unencumbered child of night

Moonlight guides your endless flight

Capturing the darkened skies

Reflecting light in ebony eyes

Shine on endlessly in your quest

Your moon, my child, forever blest

When the rain falls like tinsel,

Glistening, against the light

That shines in the mist, chasing

Storms that play in the night;

When clouds draw back their curtain,

And the moon smiles, knowingly,

It is then you must stop.

For this is your inner peace….

Allowing the light of your soul,

To shine with the heavens above.
